According to reports from Santa Barbara's Noozhawk, residents in the affluent neighborhood have raised concerns that the wall may redirect water onto their own properties during heavy storms.

It has been reported that Carpinteria-based company, Jimenez Nursery, utilized Oprah's address when seeking approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build the wall.

However, it remains unclear if Oprah was directly involved in the process.

Aside from concerns about potential water redirection, residents have also expressed worries about the wall's ability to withstand severe weather conditions.

This is particularly pertinent in light of the area's recent history of weather-related catastrophes, such as the 2018 mudslide that claimed 23 lives and destroyed over 100 homes.

Authorities have examined the wall and plan to collaborate with property managers to assess its compliance with regulations and determine appropriate next steps.
