Legacy of a Damn Good Dawg: Remembering Uga X's Illustrious Reign at the University of Georgia

Que assumed the prestigious role of Uga X during the 2015 football season and remained the iconic furry face of the university's athletic program until his retirement in 2022. Hailing as the grandson of Uga IX, Que bore witness to an unprecedented era of success for the Bulldogs. The team achieved a remarkable 91-18 record during his tenure, securing two national championships, and two SEC titles, and participating in seven New Year's Six bowl games.

The accolades extended beyond the field, as Que was rightfully inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2022, joining the esteemed ranks of his predecessors. Despite occasional criticisms, particularly from groups like PETA advocating against using four-legged mascots on game days, former Georgia stars such as Knowshon Moreno and Tavarres King passionately defended the university's tradition. They asserted that the institution treated all Ugas, including Que, with the utmost care and reverence.

Following Que's retirement, Uga XI, known as "Boom," assumed the mantle in April 2023, continuing the legacy of these cherished live mascots at the University of Georgia. As the Bulldog community mourns the loss of Uga X, they reflect on the remarkable contributions and unforgettable moments that defined his decade-long reign as the embodiment of the "Damn Good Dawg" spirit.
