Advocating for Care Workers: Megan Thee Stallion and Caring Across Generations Join Forces

The 28-year-old rapper, who holds a degree in Health Administration from Texas Southern University, expressed her enthusiasm for working with Caring Across Generations, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the recognition and support of caregivers.

Megan shared in a statement provided to Variety that caregiving has played a significant role in her life, having witnessed her grandmother's exceptional care for her great-grandmother with love, strength, and patience. She emphasized the need to support and celebrate care workers, acknowledging the undervaluation of their work, which is crucial in society.

The rapper's vision is to create an environment where care receivers feel secure, comfortable, and at home while care workers receive the necessary support and empowerment they need. She further emphasized the importance of providing high-quality resources to families in caring for their loved ones in need.

On the other hand, Ai-Jen Poo, Caring Across Generations' executive director, shared that the organization is committed to changing the perception and support for caregiving. She emphasized that caring for loved ones is an essential role, yet remains unsupported and often invisible. The care crisis, she believes, is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and having the members of the Creative Care Council speak up and promote visibility and support for childcare, paid family leave, aging, and disability care is significant.
