Marvin Gaye III Files for Divorce Two Months After Domestic Violence Arrest
Marvin Gaye III has decided to end his marriage and filed for divorce just two months after he was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at his wife.
According to legal documents obtained by Latest Celebrity, Marvin Gaye's son filed for divorce from his wife, Wendy Gaye, on Wednesday.
Interestingly, Marvin III listed the date of separation as Jan. 12, which is the same date as his domestic violence arrest.
It was reported that Marvin III had physically assaulted his wife and cousin during an argument inside his Calabasas home.
Wendy later obtained a restraining order against him after claiming that he had grabbed her by the neck and lifted her off the ground before physically attacking both her and her cousin.
Wendy also alleged that Marvin III pointed a gun at them.
In the divorce papers, Marvin III cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split and is requesting to block the court's ability to award Wendy spousal support.
They did not have any children, so no child custody issues will arise.
Notably, Marvin III did not specify the date of their marriage in the documents, only putting "TBD."
We have reached out to Wendy's representatives for comment, but have yet to receive a response.
