The girlfriend of Spencer Webb, the former football star who tragically passed away in a cliff-diving accident in July 2022, has given birth to their son.

Spencer Webb's legacy lives on: Girlfriend welcomes son, "a piece of him"

Kelly Kay announced the news on Friday via an emotional post on Instagram, where she shared several photos of their newborn son covered in an Oregon Ducks blanket.

The caption of the post read, "Spider Webb 3/30/23", revealing the date of their son's birth to be just a week before Spencer's upcoming birthday on April 7.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office had confirmed that Spencer Webb had died following a cliff-diving accident at Triangle Lake in Oregon, where he had hit his head and was unable to be saved despite the efforts of bystanders and first responders. The 22-year-old tight end's death was a devastating loss to his family, friends, and fans.

Kelly Kay had been open about her emotional pregnancy journey, revealing that Spencer had always wanted to become a father. In an Instagram post from August 2022, she shared, "Can't believe I have to do it without you but knowing I'll have a piece of you keeps me going. I can't wait to meet the person that's half you, half me. I love you forever, both of you."

The news of their son's birth has brought a glimmer of hope for Kelly and Spencer's loved ones. It is evident that the birth of their child has been a bittersweet moment for Kelly, who has been through a lot in the past year. However, it is reassuring to see that she is finding comfort in the fact that their son will carry a part of Spencer with him.

The outpouring of love and support for Kelly and their newborn son has been tremendous, with fans and friends alike taking to social media to send their congratulations and express their happiness for the family. It is my hope that Kelly continues to receive the love and support she needs during this time and that their son brings joy and light into their lives.
