Champion Bodybuilder Chad McCrary DEAD AT 49
In a poignant and remarkable journey, the world bids farewell to the indomitable champion bodybuilder, Chad McCrary, who passed away at the age of 49.
His unwavering dedication to his passion endured even in the face of adversity, as a devastating motocross accident in 2005 rendered him paralyzed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair.
Championing from Texas, McCrary initiated his bodybuilding odyssey in 2000, transforming from a 160-pound novice to an impressive 240 pounds by 2003. The tragic incident during a cross-country motorcycle race in 2005, attempting a daring 100-foot triple jump, altered the course of his life. The impact severely damaged his spinal cord, leaving him a paraplegic.
Undeterred by his misfortune, Chad McCrary continued to embrace life with unparalleled vigor, resuming his beloved pursuit of bodybuilding. Serving as an inspiration to many facing similar challenges, he declared, "I was already involved in bodybuilding and just carried it over to the wheelchair."
Throughout the years, McCrary showcased his resilience on the competitive stage, participating in numerous IFBB PRO Contests. Notably, in 2022, he secured a commendable 4th place at the Arnold Classic and achieved a top 10 finish in the 2022 Wheelchair Olympia. His triumphs extended to victories at the NPC Wheelchair Nationals in 2020 and 2016, along with other notable Amateur Contests.
Chad McCrary's legacy transcends the boundaries of sport, encapsulating the spirit of perseverance and determination. As we mourn the loss of this extraordinary individual, let us remember and celebrate the life of a true champion. Rest in peace, Chad.
