Jay-Z's Net Worth Soars to $2.5 Billion After Sale of Alcohol Brand

Forbes has reported that Jay-Z's net worth has now reached an impressive $2.5 billion, following the sale of his alcohol brand. 

This achievement places the Roc Nation rapper at the 1,203rd position on the list of the world's richest people. 

Jay-Z sold the 50% stake of his D’USSÉ cognac back to its parent company Bacardi in February for a reported $750 million after a contentious court battle, but he still retains significant ownership in the brand.

While Bernard Arnault, the CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, remains the world's wealthiest person with a net worth of $216.1 billion, Jay-Z can currently boast the title of the most-paid rapper.

 Additionally, Billboard recently crowned him "The Best Rapper Of All-Time," and he holds the most Grammys for a rapper with 24. Lil Wayne recently challenged Jay-Z's title, with support from respected personality Angie Martinez, but given the stack of Hov's #1's, the debate could be highly contested. 

Clearly, Jay-Z is still very much a savvy businessman.
